Ils agencent leur plantation afin de profiter de l’ensemble des bénéfices des arbres.
Un exemple de design : il plante 3 rangés d’arbre pour exploitation du bois, et entre chaque rangée, une rangé de petits arbres. Avec cela il obtint un coupe vent pour ses moutons, il produit du bois d’œuvre et crée des corridors pour la biodiversité. Il appelle cela « the multi-purpose trees ».
Andrew and Jill have a very interesting vision of agroforestry.
They design his plantation in a way to have all the benefice of trees in one place.
An example of his design : he plants 3 rows of hardwood and between each he plants a row of a small trees. With that, he has a shelter for his sheep, he produces timber (hardwood) and he creates some corridors for the biodiversity. He calls that the multi-purpose trees.
