Just after left Andrew and Jill Stewart, we met Rowan Reid another member of Otway Agroforestry Network and the coordinator of the Australian Master trees Grower Program.
Rowan has been teaching at the Melbourne University. Since 1991. He has a small farm with lot of différents trees. : Bambra farm He use his propertie for his class and the Master Trees Growers Program.
He is a pationate by trees and agroforestry. He is very involved in the promotion of agroforestry in Australia and in the world. He wrote several books and he published some articles in the Australian Agroforestry magazine.

He has an interesting vision of agroforestry. For him, it’s not just a model that you copy, it is the integration of trees into a farm for conservation, profits and for each farm you have to find the best integration to answer to your issues and your goals.
Après avoir quitté la ferme d’Andrew et de Jill Stewart, nous avons rencontré Rowan Reid, un autre membre du Otway Agroforestry Network et le coordinateur du programme Australien Master Trees Growers.
Rowan enseigne à l’Université de Melbourne depuis 1991. Il possède une petite ferme de démonstration : Bambra farm. Il l’utilise lors de ses cours avec l’Université et dans le cadre de son programme Master Trees Growers.
Il est passionné par les arbres et l’agroforesterie. Il est très impliqué par la promotion de ce système agricole en Australie et à l’internationale. Il a écrit plusieurs livres sur l’agroforesterie et le management des arbres et publie des articles dans le magasine Australian Agroforestry.

Sa vision de l’agroforesterie est intéressante. Pour lui, ce n’est pas un modèle unique que l’on doit essayer de promouvoir mais plutôt une l’intégration d’arbres essayant de répondre aux problèmes de l’agriculteur. Ainsi chaque exploitation a son propre « modèle ». Mais pour chaque exploitation l’intégration de l’arbre répond aux problèmes environnementaux tout en apportant un avantage économique.
